So I can either manually re-set the clocks or wait and remember that the time may or may not be correct for about a week. Anyone know of a better atomic clock. La-Crosse states on website that (all atomic clocks) it can take 3-5 NIGHTS (72-120 hours) before clock will automatically re-set for DST. Not worth it.
Receives signal very fast and working flawlessly. Not even able to use with the manual setting. Used new duracell batteries. Asked me to pay the shipping (which costs $10.40) and return the item. First bitter experience through amazon purchase.
After going through similar reviews I thought it will be waste of money because nobody received a working clock back.Bought a Sharp atomic clock from ebay for $20. No display. I bought this for my new house. I purchased this from amazon. Opened the package only after moving there - after 2 months from purchase.
Contacted customer service.
The morning came and sure enough, the clock set itself and the weather station was indicating pressure was on the rise and improving weather. After 12 hours, all is well. That was when the instructions said was the best time for the clock to find the signal. There was a spot on the west side of my kitchen where I wanted the clock, so I drilled the two holes and put the clock on the wall. I figured I would let everything settle before moving the sensor outside.I waited for the clock to set itself, but after a couple of hours it had not found the 60 kHz signal. Now it was a matter of letting everything settle. Setup was simple, finding a place to mount the external temperature sensor was not as simple.I placed the batteries in the sensor, then in the clock.
I was still wondering if the clock would set itself.Went to bed and thought, I hope everything works. So, I manually set the clock and figured I would wait for it to try overnight. Within a minute or two the display showed the internal and external temperatures. Just received the La Crosse Technology WS-8157U-CH-IT Atomic Clock with Outdoor Temperature and Weather Forecast. They happened to be the same since the outdoor sensor was still inside the house.
I found a spot on the North side of my house for the outdoor sensor, and mounted it.
Sending unit outside on balcony, I always know temps inside and out, these things last years and batteries last a long time too. On the wall above my monitor. Easy to use, some of the cheapo Chinese imports have no documentation, hard to figure out when setting.
This item can't even tell the correct temperature of my house. It looks ok in appearance. If you count on it for temperature or weather forecast, don't be silly. Let alone the outside. If you just want to see the time. This stuff is ok. Usually it was 3 degrees different.
